Business Class lounge!
So there we were, sitting in the crowded airport in Hanoi with over two hours stretching out before us until we could board. Facing us was the Business Class lounge, which had its doors open. We could see the counters groaning under delicious and colourful cut-up fruits. In the back we could just make out a glass door fridge loaded with soft drinks. Oh well, not for us, we though.
Suddenly one of the lovely attendants floated out of the lounge and approached our Spanish friends seated beside me. She asked for their boarding passes, glanced cursorily at them and invited them to enter the Business Class lounge. I hurridly pulled out our boarding cards while they were talking and showed them to her, happy that she nodded her approval at ours as well.
Once inside, it turned out that we could sit there for free, and for $10 US each, we could help ourselves to all the food and drink (soft drinks only, plus tea and coffee). We figured that was a pretty good deal and decided we'd make it an early supper. Our spanish friends declined the $10 fee and so were ushered out again. Guess sitting there for free wasn't on the menu after all.
It was great!
We even got to use their computers briefly, though they were pretty old and kept shutting down so in the end, we just spent the two hours in there eating our fill and drinking cokes, two of which we took with us and enjoy later.
