Grant? In Hanoi?

It's hard to tell, but the girl on the back of the bike has hand flaps covering her hands.  Many women wear these jackets on the scoots, covering their heads, arms and hands to prevent sunburn.

Hans and I each in our own 'cyclo'.  We were taken for an hour-long tour of the Old City, through narrow streets filled with little shops and the ubiquitous scooters.  My god but the constant honking is, well, constant.  And very loud.  We turned down one small street that actually had no scooters and the silence was deafening.

This doesn't show the true picture of scooter traffic.    But there are lots and lots of them.

Drew and Alethea - do you know where Grant is?  We caught him posing in this photo and thought you should know.  Apparently, he's hiring himself out for other weddings.

Women carrying all manner of produce and other goods in baskets hanging from poles.  A fairly common sight.  And the pointy hat is a typical Vietnamese woman's hat.

Our last stop of the day was the water puppet show.  It's totally charming.  The puppets appear to float on the water and are manipulated through long stick that are underwater.  the puppeteers are behind the screens and you don't see them.   The show was delightful, but the seats are Vietnamese size and quite small.  My knees touched the seat in front of me, and I'm short.
